Relationship between monotony and periodicity in a system of chemical elements

The information theory, thermodynamics and energy crystal chemistry are used to quantitatively interpret the periodicity of properties of elements and compounds. The equations derived allow a comparative study of dependences between the properties of compounds and the fundamental atomic characteristics of elements constituting these compounds. The regularities of impurity association in inorganic substances are established, and methods describing this process in the framework of the proposed physicochemical portrait technique are developed. The possibilities of this technique are discussed based on experimental and theoretical simulation of the reactivity of elements forms in ultra-diluted solutions. The notion of an absolutely pure matter is formulated, and methods of its application for the reduction of complete impurity composition of inorganic substances are described. The principle of unity of monotony and periodicity in the variation of the properties of elements and compounds within the periodic system of D.I. Mendeleyev is substantiated. In the context of this principle the author discusses new data on chemistry of distant transuranium elements, hypothetical elements of the VIII period, as well as the problem of the upper boundary of the periodic system.
