Documents to be furnished by competitor to the Dissertation Council

1. Application of competitor.

2. Registration form with a photo attested at the place of employment (2 copies).

3. Attested copy of a higher education or postgraduate diploma - for competitors for the candidate degree; attested copy of a candidate of science diploma (or attested copy of a higher education or postgraduate diploma for competitors having no PhD degree) – for competitors for the doctor’s degree.

4. Certificate of passing of qualifying examinations for the candidate degree for competitors for the candidate degree and for competitors of the doctor’s degree who have no PhD degree.

5. Sufficient quantity of thesis and abstract copies to be delivered to the Russian State Library or the State Central Scientific Medical Library, the All-Russian Scientific and Technical Information Center of the Ministry of Science of Russia, the library of the institution, at which the Dissertation Council functions, to opponents and the leading organization (enterprise). All copies are signed by the competitor – on the thesis title-page (supplements 6 and 7 to Dissertation Council Regulations) and on the abstract cover (supplement 8 to Dissertation Council Regulations).

6. Decision of the organization where the dissertation was performed or at which the competitor is registered. The decision is drawn as an extract from the minutes of department (laboratory, sector, office) meeting, is approved by the head of the organization, and is sealed.

7. Four postcards with stamps, on which the address of the competitor (on two cards) and the address of the Dissertation Council where the thesis is to be presented (on the other two cards) are indicated. The surname, name, and the patronymic of the competitor and the academic degree claimed should be written in the upper corner on the reverse side of the postcard with the address of the Dissertation Council.
