Thermodynamics of Structural Vacancies in Non-Stoichiometric Interstitial Phases
This monograph offers the results of investigation of structural vacancy thermodynamics in non-stoichiometric compounds. The peculiarities of structure of these compounds and the dependence between their thermodynamic properties and the concentration of structural vacancies are described. The phenomenon of congruent evaporation and the results of measurements of structural vacancy formation energy are discussed in detail. The thermodynamic model of non-stoichiometric compounds with cellular disorder and its application for description of behavior of structural vacancies under thermobaric conditions are considered. A structural thermodynamic calculation technique of the equilibrium distribution of vacancies is proposed.
